Southie gives English the slip

Junior running back James Toles rushed for three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion in South Boston’s 34-0 victory against English High at a sloppy Saunders Stadium on Friday night.

“We had a good time out here, had fun playing football,” said Toles, who finished with 180 yards.

The win was the Knights (2-1) first league victory of the season while English (0-3) is still looking for its first victory.

Here’s a postgame video with Southie coach Sean Guthrie. The former Boston College player weighs in on Saturday night’s Holy War against Notre Dame in Chestnut Hill.
