Madison Park seeks baseball three-peat

Coming off back-t0-back conference championships, Madison Park Coach Michael Viggiano is looking forward to another successful season this spring.

“We’ll be competitive, but a lot of it depends on grades,” said Viggiano, whose team opens the season on Wednesday at Boston English. “Brighton, Boston English and Latin Academy will be challenging games within the conference.”

Slated to play several tough Division 1 opponents this year, Viggiano is looking for solid seasons from his senior captains: third baseman Alfred Santana, shortstop William Miranda and catcher Anyeric Castillo.

But the Cardinals aren’t worried about having a target on their back in league play this spring.

“They feel prepared for whatever the season has in store,” Viggiano said.
