Rain dampens Brighton bats

WEST ROXBURY — After Brighton High scored four runs against West Roxbury in the top of the first inning yesterday afternoon at Millennium Park, the game was called due to rain.

After the first and third batters (Cesarin Baez and David Marte) drew walks, Angel Shepherd hit a 2-RBI single. Ruby Rodriguez knocked in Shepherd, who  also scored on a trowing error. But none of those runs will count for Brighton (2-6 overall, 0-3 division) when the game is replayed, possibly on May 17.

West Roxbury is 4-5 overall and 4-1  in league play.
