Five girls soccer teams go varsity

Five new teams were added to the girls varsity soccer league yesterday, including  CASH (Formerly Hyde Park), Dorchester/Tech Boston, New Mission, South Boston and Charlestown. The schools, which started at the intramural level two years ago, fielded JV teams this year.

“This move means that your teams and coaches will be absorbed into the Varsity Girls’ Soccer League and run though Ken Still’s office at White Stadium,” Evan Davis of the Boston Scholar Athlete program wrote in an email to the teams. “ CONGRATULATIONS!  This is a huge step for girls’ sports in the City of Boston.”
