Latin Academy shows good effort

Latin Academy lost their opener at Millis this weekend, 27-6.  The Dragons scored their touchdown in the second quarter on a 3 yard run by sophomore Kyle Dance.  Despite the lopsided defeat, Head Coach Rocco Zizza is optimistic about his team’s chances this season.

“I’m pleased with our effort against Millis,” said Zizza after Tuesday’s practice.  “We were competitive throughout.”

Latin Academy (0-1) moved the ball well offensively, racking up more than 250 yards from the line of scrimmage and tallying 11 first downs.  However, the Dragons turned the ball over 3 times, something they are working on fixing going into their game Friday afternoon at Madison Park.

“We are a young team, especially at quarterback and wide receiver,” says Zizza. “We are looking forward to the conference opener Friday.”
