O’Bryant fell at East Boston Friday by a score of 26-0. The loss drops the Tigers to 0-2. Head Coach Kevin Gadson said his squad didn’t execute to their standards and could not take advantage of their chances.
“We have to block better, tackle better, and not make mistakes,” said Gadson. “Coaches and players both, we need to do better jobs.”
One of those mistakes was a fumble in the second quarter that was run back for an Eastie touchdown. Gadson points out that better teams, like Eastie (1-1), will capitalize on opponents’ errors, something the young O’Bryant team is still learning to do. Still, the Tigers played tough and did not get down, even as the game got out of reach.
“East Boston is a good team,” said Gadson of the conference foes. “We’ve gotta get better too.”
O’Bryant hosts winless Trinity Catholic, out of the Catholic Central League, at 4:00 Friday afternoon.
