Southie escapes White Stadium with a win over Burke

By Patrick Flaherty, BPSsports Correspondent

JAMAICA PLAIN — The South Boston Knights were able to break at 8-8 halftime score with a strong 3rd quarter to earn a 24-14 victory over the Jeremiah E. Burke Bulldogs Friday night at White Stadium.

While the Knights were favored coming into the game, the win less Bulldogs set the tone in the early going.  Buke’s George Tate came up with a big interception in the first quarter, which he then followed up with a tremendous 23 yard pass reception which allowed the Bulldogs to control the football for most of the 1st quarter.  That 69 yard drive was then capped off by a Dexter Forrester 4 yard Touchdown run to give Burke the early lead.
