Latin Academy puts on offensive show

By Evan Freedman, Correspondent

Latin Academy took home the ‘Mason Cup’ Friday against rival Dorchester thanks to an offensive attack that put up 34 points and didn’t punt the entire game.

“It was our best offfensive showing yet,” said Dragons’ Head Coach Rocco Zizza after the convincing 34-16 win.

Sophomore quarterback Kyle Dance had a multi-purpose game, rushing for 155 yards and throwing for over 100.  Dance threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.  Junior feature back Ernest Kellough added 175 yards on the ground.

The Dragons (3-1) face Burke (0-4) at 3:00 Friday afternoon at White Stadium.  Although Latin Academy and Burke are at opposite ends of the standings, Zizza and his team are taking nothing for granted.

“We have a long way to go,” said Zizza.  “We gave up a lot of yards defensively.”
