Latin Academy sits atop south division

At the midway point of the season, the Latin Academy Dragons lead the Boston South Division football standings.  With just one loss on their resume, a week 1A out of conference game at Millis, the Dragons are looking forward to this week’s game at Pope John (1 p.m. Saturday, Chelsea Field).

“Pope John is an explosive team with a wide open offense,” explains Latin Academy Head Coach Rocco Zizza.  “They hate to punt.  It will be a fun game;  we’re looking forward to it.”

The Dragons are coming off a divisional game victory against Burke, who Zizza credits with a good offense, especially in the running game.  In Friday’s game against the Bulldogs at White Stadium, Latin Academy won 27-0 behind three touchdowns from quarterback Kyle Dance.

One game up on Brighton, the Dragons are not looking ahead to their November 4 clash against the Bengals.  Instead, they are taking it one day at a time.

“We take things one game at a time, and one practice at a time,” says Zizza.  “We are getting better every day.”
