O’Bryant is back to the .500 mark overall after Friday afternoon’s win against English. The improving Tigers have won three of their last four, allowing just two points in those wins.
O’Bryant blanked the Blue and Blue, 20-0, dropping the young English squad to 1-5.
Tiger sophomore Mehki Williams scored six on a 70 yard run in the first quarter, on his way to a game high 119 yards.
“Williams ran hard,” says Head Coach Kevin Gadson of the game’s first scoring play. “The line did well, and he just went and got it.”
O’Bryant (3-3, 1-1) has another interdivisional game this Friday afternoon against West Roxbury. The Tigers will be looking to attack the Raiders with a balanced mix of run and pass. Defensively, Coach Gadson says they will have to tackle effectively because Westie runs the ball well.
“Westie is big and physical,” says Gadson. “They are a talented team. We’ll have to be at our best.”
“We’re progressing as the season goes on. We’re young too, like English. We’ve got to keep coaching and teaching. We’re looking to finish the season on a good note.”
O’Bryant vs. West Roxbury is set for 3:30 Friday at Madison Park.
