By Patrick O’Connor, BPSsports Correspondent

The annual Thanksgiving Day clash between Charlestown and Latin Academy takes place at in Charlestown at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

Charlestown (Division 4A/Boston North) is 3-6 and hopes to give the Latin Academy Dragons a hard time on the home field.  Led by fourth season Coach Darrell Ramsey, the Townies got off to a good start defeating Burke and West Roxbury and then lost the next four.  The last win occurred on Oct. 28 with a 34-8 victory against English High.

The Townies would have liked to have won more games and certainly played hard, losing to Dorchester and Madison Park by an identical score of 12-6.

Latin Academy (Division 5/Boston South) is 6-4 and is Boston South champs after losing to O’Bryant on Nov. 10 by a score of 26-20.  The Dragons won the title despite the loss because of a three-way tie in the league standings and having not reached the postseason the longest.

Latin Academy will take on Nantucket for the Division 5 Super Bowl on Dec. 3.
