Latin Academy will face off against Nantucket in the Division 5 Super Bowl tomorrow at noon at Taunton High School. The Dragons will have their hands full defending against a Nantucket team which averaged over 30 points per game this season.
“They have a potent offensive attack,” said Latin Academy Head Coach Rocco Zizza. “Their quarterback runs and throws well, and he has big targets to go to.”
Latin Academy will rely heavily on sophomore quarterback Kyle Dance, who has shown the ability to win with both his strong arm and quick feet. Dance’s primary receivers are junior Alex Guerrer and senior Shavar Lazarus.
The Dragons have watched some tape of Nantucket (9-2, 5-0 in Mayflower Small) in preparation of the big game.
“We’ve got to shut down their quarterback as much as possible,” said Zizza. “We’re ready to go. Both teams have had some extra time to prepare for this one. They have a great coach who will make sure they’re ready too.”
