MP boys knock out Natick in first round playoff game

Playing in its first game since losing by one point in the City League championship game in overtime to East Boston last Friday, the Madison Park boys’ basketball team took to their home court tonight and sent the Redmen from Natick High home with a 69-62 loss in the first round of the Division 1 South bracket.

The No.15-seed Natick never lead but competed enough to trail by one, 48-47 in the third.  In the fourth, Natick trailed second-seeded Madison by three, 54-51, but the Cards always managed increase their lead.  Natick ends its season at 13-8 while  Madison Park is now 17-2 and off to the quarterfinal round for a home game at 1 p.m. on Saturday against No. 7-seeded Taunton.

Taunton defeated Needham, 60-55, in the first round.
